Medikabazaar is India's largest online B2B platform for medical supplies, aimed at bridging the gap between sellers and medical establishments (hospitals & healthcare centers) for streamlined and cost-effective procurement. The Series-D company serves as a single-point solution for all consolidated medical procurement through an intuitive, consumption-based automated order management system. 

The company has an inventory as well as a marketplace model. Their internal supply-chain infrastructure improves supply efficiency and reduces turnaround time.

Problem Statement 

Medical establishments need health-tech solutions to optimise procurement, streamline the availability of medical supplies and equipment, and reduce inventory costs. The overall healthcare system is impacted by a lack of quality medical supplies and supply chain enablers. 

To address and bridge this gap, Medikabazaar reached out to Purple Quarter to find a technocrat who could bring a tech-first approach to the organization. With a global expansion vision, the company wanted a VP of Engineering onboard who could scale the brand, build a resilient tech team and focus on product development. Blending technical expertise with people management skills, the agile leader should create a blueprint for the tech org structure, deliver solutions aligned with the growth vision of the organization, and manage a large tech and product team.  

Solution and Execution 

Analyzing the business and tech roadmap and the critical responsibilities of the role, our experts consulted the client to onboard a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) instead of a VP of Engineering. Further, finding a tech lead who could relocate and join the onsite team in Mumbai needed directed efforts. 

Together with Medikabazaar, we devised a tailored strategy for mapping and finding the best leadership fit aligned with the former's goals, objectives, and culture. Vishal Chaturvedi was identified as the ideal candidate for Medikabazaar's search for a data-driven and results-oriented leader. An alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Vishal has previously been associated with giants such as Samsung, Amazon, British Telecom, Jio, and BlackBuck.

Using our proprietary Behavioral Metrics Model (BMM), Vishal Chaturvedi was identified as the right fit for Medikabazaar’s search for a data-driven and results-oriented leader. Vishal’s leadership personality reflected a combination of Nurturer-Reconstructor, who is responsible for building and scaling the present platform by plumbing the existing architecture with newer additions and innovations, alongside a visionary mindset to reshape the organization’s future trajectory.

Vishal was keen to join Medikabazaar, a healthtech pioneer, in revolutionizing the healthcare industry with meaningful contributions that would make a lasting impact on society. 

He is now leading Medikabazaar’s product, engineering, UX, and analytics aimed at making healthcare affordable and accessible. Vishal's expertise will be instrumental in scaling the company’s footprints with tech-driven operations.
